Unlike the first part of the subseries, which was set in the Old World, this time the players travel to the west, where they wage a war across four continents: Ulthuan, Naggaroth, Southern Realms, and Lustria. Four races take part in the conflict, i.e. the High Elves, the Dark Elves, the Lizardmen, and the Skaven.

Total War: Warhammer II is a fantasy strategy game designed for PC. This is also a sequel to Total War: Warhammer released in 2016. Both games were created by Creative Assembly.

Plot

Like the title suggests, players get to visit the popular fantasy universe of Warhammer once more. This game, however, is not set in the Old World, where we got to in the previous part. Instead, we travel toward the west, where we wage a war across four continents: Ulthuan, Naggaroth, Southern Realms, and Lustria.

The grand campaign lets you play through the conflict as a leader of one of four races, which include the High Elves, the Dark Elves, the Lizardmen, and the Skaven. Those four factions fight for control over the Great Vortex, which has been there over Ulthuan, the elves’ homeland, for thousands of years.

Expansion

Strategy

A free expansion for the strategy game Total War: Warhammer II. The add-on was developed by the creators of the original, i.e. Creative Assemble. The Mortal Empires DLC is offered exclusively to the owners of the first two games in the series, as it introduces a third game mode, which is a t campaign. The add-on s the grand campaigns from both the first Total War: Warhammer and its sequel, but it does not do it by simply combining the two maps – the campaign is set in the Old World with some of the most essential territories added, namely, Ulthuan, Naggaroth, Southlands and Lustria. The area consists of a total of 295 settlements controlled by 117 playable and non-playable factions. It is also worth noting that Total War: Warhammer II - Mortal Empires does not bring any important changes to gameplay mechanics. Gameplay still consists of two phases – in the first one you manage your nation on a strategic world map, but whenever there is a clash between two armies you get to take part in a huge battle of thousands of units fought in real time. Nevertheless, the expansion includes all the innovations and improvements brought forth by Total War: Warhammer II. Besides, every other DLC and “free-LC” is also available in the Mortal Empires mode, thus further expanding the t campaign map.
