PS5 Will Have its Own DLSS 2.0, Sony's Patent Suggests
A patent ed by Sony suggests that the PlayStation 5 may use an advanced image reconstruction technique similar to DLSS 2.0 created by Nvidia.

A patent ed by Sony suggests that PlayStation 5 may use an image reconstruction technique operating on similar principles to DLSS 2.0. In a nutshell, this involves using lower base resolution (e.g. 1080p or 720p) and selectively complementing animation frames with details observed in a higher res. - a specially trained AI algorithm is responsible for this operation.
The result is an image of comparable sharpness and detail, but requiring much less processing power. The potential benefit of using similar technology on PS5 is obvious - DLSS 2.0 performs better in most situations than the checkerboarding that is commonly used in PlayStation 4 Pro games.
