Rockstar Wants Perfect GTA 6, Take-Two CEO Has no Doubts
Rockstar wants GTA VI to be the perfect game, no matter how long it takes to make it, according to Take-Two's CEO.

Rockstar is working up a sweat on GTA VI, wanting the game to be close to perfection. Will it set new standards in the industry?
GTA VI to be a masterpiece...
An interview with Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, is available on YouTube. In it, the 65-year-old businessman talks mainly about work culture, but it wouldn't be complete without a mention of GTA VI.
Sriram, one of the interviewers, asked Strauss Zelnick how Take-Two and its member companies manage to strike a balance between wanting to provide players with novelty and staying true to the proven elements that have shaped the series over the years.
The relevant excerpt begins at the 31:25 mark.
"Making Grand Theft Auto is a major challenge for the studio. Rockstar's answer is: 'strive for perfection until it is finally achieved'. By that I mean creating something that other studios wouldn't even dream of," said Strauss Zelnick
leak also indicates great scope.
...although there are doubts
Interestingly, Strauss Zelnick's statement is at odds with the opinion of insider known as Tez2, who believes that there is a high probability that Rockstar will be willing to cut GTA VI content in order to get the game to market faster.
Last week's report by Take-Two indicates that GTA VI (or another, equally big game from the studio) will be released in 2024, as indicated by the projected huge revenue.
Will Rockstar - with Take-Two's permission - release an "undercooked" or cobbled-together game, with the intention of selling cut content in the form of paid DLCs? Or are the developers actually aiming for perfection, even at the expense of long development time? GTA VI will likely debut on next-gen consoles and PC. The release date remains unknown.
