Sony Confirms No SSD Expansion for PS5 Right After Launch
Sony has confirmed earlier reports that claimed the PlayStation 5 console will not offer the option expand SSD memory right after launch.
As early as March 2020, Sony's hardware system architect Mark Cerny announced that the PlayStation 5 console will not SSD memory expansion from the start. However, some things may have changed a bit in recent months, so The Verge asked the Japanese company for a confirmation. And they got it, so we can officially say that nothing has changed in this regard. We will get this possibility only after one of the future system updates. PS5 has a socket for M.2 SSD, but it will be unusable for now.
