What can you do if the game you love has gone astray? Complain to the developers, make a lot of fiery posts on Reddit… or create your own, better one. Who does that anyway? Well, Reynad did, when he decided that closed beta, many fans wonder if this production will eventually reach Steam. Let’s explore how the situation looks like as of now and what is possible in the future.

Steam release of The Bazaar explained

Lots of us love Gabe Newell’s platform – Steam. This does not mean that every single game is available there, sadly. And so, it seems that Reynad chose his own way and does not plan to release The Bazaar on Steam. It is a bold move with a lot of potential payoff, but everything depends on how popular the title will become.

Getting into more details, it is not a secret that Steam takes even up to 30% of all purchases made using it. This is supposedly the reason why Tim Sweeny wants to liberate developers on his Epic Game Store offering a lot smaller margin on his marketplace. Due to that, The Bazaar uses its own launcher not d with any bigger provider. This way, Tempo Storm won’t have to share any money they make with 3rd parties and can use it to further develop the title.

This is not the whole story though, as a big part of The Bazzar is the mobile devices market. This sector of the gaming world has grown so much that it is responsible for almost half of the global gaming revenue (via Pocket Gamer). While Reynad’s production is not available yet, it is planned to be released on iOS and Android. This is a great move, providing that the popularity will be good enough to keep the game alive. A nice addition is that The Bazaar is available on Apple Mac, too.

Even though the creators claim that for now there are no plans for Steam launch, it is not completely out of the question judging on the wording they used on official FAQ. Heading into the volatile market of video games is dangerous on its own, where great titles can be easily forgotten or simply missed due to the sheer number of available alternatives. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for Reynad and his project.
