This little fishing game just reeled in a big win on Steam. Cornerpond is April’s top desktop buddy

Because a little pixel art, a splash of color, and some cozy vibes go a long way. Cornerpond brings all that – and a fishing rod – right to your desktop.

While everyone’s still talking about Expedition 33, an indie game has quietly reached a new milestone. Cornerpond launched just over a week ago, quickly climbed Steam’s popular releases chart, and hasn’t stopped gaining new players since.

Catch the chill with Cornerpond

The cat that punches your taskbar every time you click or type. But this one just hits different – because really, what’s more relaxing than fishing while you work or study?

Cornerpond was created by solo developer foolsroom, who’s no stranger to game development. They’ve also worked on other titles like the roguelikes FLERP, Whackerball, and Mouselash, as well as the deckbuilding game Facehand. But Cornerpond is definitely their most successful project as it recently hit over 2,000 concurrent players on Steam.

It’s a cozy fishing game made to quietly hang out in the corner of our desktop. Our character fishes automatically, but every now and then, a big catch will need our attention, adding a nice little touch of interactivity.

We have five unique biomes and 100 types of snazzy-looking fish. As we collect and sell our catches, we can earn money, upgrade our gear, and customize our avatar – which, by the way, is just pixel-perfect. The game is priced at just $2.99, but there's also a demo available if you want to try it first.

Been with gamepressure.androidapks.biz since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or iring my collection of retro consoles.
