How to become a vampire?
You can become a vampire in 2 ways:
- Complete all contracts assigned by the Dark Brotherhood. To reach this group, you must first kill an innocent person. Then get some sleep. After waking up, you will see a hooded figure - Lucien Lachance. He will assign you to kill Rufio before you can become initiated into the Dark Brotherhood.
- Get infected with the disease while fighting a vampire. Every vampire attack has a chance to infect your character with Porphyric Hemophilia. You will find vampires in the vampire dungeons - for obvious reasons, they avoid the sun. One of the main tasks, called Azura, will allow you to reach the Gutted Mine filled with vampires.
Can you cure vampirism?
Yes, this is possible. After you have been infected, you have 72 hours to cure yourself. There are several ways to do this:
- Drinking the potion that cures diseases will allow you to get rid of this status.
- Using a spell that cures diseases will also work.
- Interacting with the altar in any city will also cure you.
Pros and cons of being a vampire
Being a vampire has its pros and cons. As for the first ones:
- Increased resistance to damage from normal weapons,
- Acquiring new abilities, which are only available for vampires,
- Some skills, such as acrobatics, mysticism, or athletics, receive bonuses to statistics.
- Better visibility in the dark,
- 100% resistance to diseases and paralysis.
As for the negatives:
- When you go out in the sun, you will start receiving damage,
- Fast travel may be impossible in the sun.
- The guards may refuse to accept money, instead they will chase you and try to kill you.
Of course, your appearance will also change, but it's hard to determine whether this is something negative or positive.
