How to start the Horses for Courses quest?

1. To gain access to horse races, you need to visit the Nomads' Camp in the Trosky region - it is located west of the Zhelejov village.
2. There should be 2 markers in the camp and they mark the characters from the Horses for Courses side quest. They are Bibrek the Archer and Horse handler Mikolai. You can meet these characters in any order - but you have to talk to both men.

1. The action will move to the forest altar next to the camp. During the meeting, you can side with Bibrek or Mikolai, or be neutral. Your answers will not determine whether you unlock horse races and mounted archery or not - you get access to both new mini-games.

How to participate in horse races?

1. During the Horses for Courses side quest, you have to win 3 different horse races (of increasing difficulty level). You can discuss this with Mikolai - he will always take you to the starting point and can also explain the general rules.

1. After winning 3 races related to the quest, you will unlock the ability to participate in free races. When talking with Mikolai, you can choose race routes and difficulty level.
2. Additionally, there will be an option to make bets - you can bet a certain amount of groschen. The limitation is that you can participate in a maximum of 1 free race per day.

How to win horse races?

1. Horse races require preperation. We primarily recommend spending a lot of time traveling on the starting horse to unlock the Good Old Pebbles skill, which will permanently increase the mount's statistics.
2. Additionally, advance in the Horsemanship category and unlock its subsequent skills. The key ones are those that increase the horse's condition and those from the Final Stretch group. They will allow you to spur your mount one more time to regain some stamina points.

1. Open the map when the race starts. It shows the next checkpoint you need to reach. This will allow you to plan your route. The checkpoint marker also appears on the com. Additionally, you can see smoke in the distance, which can guide you to the checkpoint.

1. You don't have to travel exclusively on main roads, but you must be aware that taking shortcuts is a risk. Avoid stopping on rocks and pay attention to places where there might be, for example, a sudden drop, a water reservoir, or a steep rise. In such situations, it's better to stick to the main route.
2. Regain your horse's stamina at the checkpoints, because then you often have to make a sharp turn. to open the map to see the next checkpoint (the game only shows the nearest one).

How to unlock mounted archery contest?

1. The second of the mini-games related to horse riding is a competition in shooting while traveling on horseback. Similar to races, you first have to win a series of trials. In each of them, you need to get more points than Bibrek.
2. that you must have a bow or crossbow. We also advise not to rush with completing the mini-game here - first, focus on developing your skills in the Marksmanship category. In particular, pay attention to the skills that will facilitate faster shooting.

1. In each attempt, you must collect a certain number of points before time runs out. Some targets are worth 1 point, while others several points.
2. If the given trial allows it, let your horse travel on a paved road and focus solely on shooting. It's worth slowing down a bit before more difficult targets - hitting the target is the most important thing and you shouldn't gallop, as it will drastically worsen your accuracy.
