In a few weeks AvP 2: Cooperative, has just been released.

The project was developed to resemble the official cooperative mode as much as possible. The mod enables you to play in co-op through both campaigns and many fan-made single player maps. The author modified the mission structure and many gameplay elements so that the challenges are not too easy for a group of players

By the way, the mod's creator has fixed many bugs related to AI and faulty scripts. This is probably the most important feature of the modification. Earlier projects of this type (e.g. X co-op) had big problems with it, causing the game to freeze frequently. They were also not compatible with many maps.

  1. AvP 2: Cooperative - the mod from our FTP server (the author has given us permission to host a mirror)

AvP 2: Cooperative requires two previous projects to work in the form of Ultimate Map Pack 3. The former is a fan patch that restores multiplayer in the game. In 2008, after the acquisition of Sierra by Activision, the so-called Master Server, with which other servers communicated, was disabled, thus preventing us from viewing the list of active servers. However, fans rolled up their sleeves and prepared an alternative, thus salvaging the game's multiplayer gameplay.

Ultimate Map Pack 3, in turn, is a set of more than half a thousand of the best fan-made maps for AvP. It contains virtually all the levels used on the still running servers, so it is a must-have item for fans of the game.
