PS5 May Get Cheaper U and New Design in 2022
The previous generation of consoles set a new trend with refreshed versions of hardware and the current generation may continue it. However, no one expected that a new version of the PlayStation 5 with a cheaper AMD processor could go into production so soon.

According to a report by Taiwanese website the production costs of PS5 are higher than the price of the device, which makes the company incur loss on each sold copy.
According to informants, a remedy is to use a new processor AMD, designed in 6-nanometer technology called TSMC. It is to be cheaper in production than the currently used in PS5 chip, Zen 2 (7 nm), which seems to be confirmed at least by this source, and also much less expensive than the chip planned, according to older rumors, in 5 nm lithography.
This change could add to PlayStation 5's currently severely limited resources around the world. However, despite the ongoing problems, it's fair to say that the console has been a huge success, with overheating of the device.
At this point it's unclear whether a refreshed version of PS5 will see major design improvements, or whether the changes will be limited to the processor. Hopefully we'll know a little more about that soon. Perhaps the availability of PlayStation 5 will improve, and we'll finally be able to buy Sony's hardware without a problem.
