Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Is there a point of no return?
Are there so-called "points of no return" in Kingdom Come 2? Our guide will explain to you whether there are temporary blocks to free exploration in the main storyline and whether you can be led to miss or cancel side quests.
Should you worry about a point of no return and having your unfinished quests cancelled in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2? Our guide describes all the points of no return: two smaller ones in the Trosky region and a major one in Kuttenberg. This will allow you to settle all matters before the finale and find out when the game will unlock free map exploration again.
This page contains some plot spoilers. We focused on the cases of locked exploration, not the events associated with them. Therefore, reading this page shouldn't mess with your own gameplay and experiencing the story.

The first point of no return in Trosky
The first minor point of no return in the game happens when setting off for the wedding, which is the main theme of the Wedding Crashers quest. These are the most important limitations here:
- No possibility to leave the ceremony area - you have to complete the wedding quest in its entirety.
- Having to complete the next main quest in the castle - this is the For Whom the Bell Tolls quest. While completing it, you will temporarily lose all your equipment and will have to act under time pressure.
to prepare yourself before the wedding and definitely don't rush into this quest. In addition to saving the game, we recommend working on stealth skills, lock picking, and alchemy, which can be very useful in the castle quest.
The second point of no return in Trosky
- The second smaller point of no return is the feast at Trosky Castle, which is the main theme of the For Victory! quest.
- Starting this quest will start a whole series of storyline missions, which you cannot interrupt. You have to play them one after the other and traveling around the game world will be impossible until you complete them all. Moreover, after completing the quests, Henry will automatically set off to the Kuttenberg region. This will not permanently block your access to the Trosky region, but later in the game, you will have to spend 200 Groschen on a caravan.
- Don't rush to talk to Capon in the Troski Castle, as this conversation will start the feast quest. We particularly recommend improving Henry's combat skills and teaching him how to perform Master Strikes, as you will have to participate in various fights, including a boss confrontation.
Main point of no return in Kuttenberg
- The most crucial point of no return is the very long finale of the main campaign, which is a series of quests played in Kuttenberg. It starts with the Oratores quest.
- Start preparing for it by unlocking a good mount. You can increase the statistics of your horse Pebbles, or buy a better horse in one of the stables. Not having a solid horse may prevent you from completing the horse chase sequence, which is a mandatory part of the main quest.
- At the end of the same quest, you will receive an objective to return to the Ruthards' palace and this will be the proper point of no return. This is when you'll see a warning on your screen, as shown in the attached screenshot.
- From the moment you enter the courtyard of the Ruthards' palace, free travel around the game world will not be possible. A whole series of final game quests will begin, in which Henry primarily engages in a lot of fights.
- Completing the finale of the main campaign will lead to the destruction of the village of Suchdol, but important NPCs should appear there and you will be able to meet them after the main storyline is wrapped up.
- What's more problematic is that the Sigismund's Camp will disappear from the Kuttenberg map. Henry can fight one of the optional bosses there, but the camp will no longer be there, only traces of it. This means that you'll lose your chance to complete quests related to the camp. Take care of them before you start the Oratores quest.
