Expedition 33: All journals

While exploring the world of Expedition 33, you will come across journals left behind by previous expeditions that perished before reaching their goal. They expand the game world and allow you to find out how your predecessors died. There are a total of 42 journals and several secret journals - collecting them will reward you with the Follow The Trail trophy. They are scattered throughout various locations, both mandatory and optional. On this guide page, we have listed all the journals in the game and where to find them.

Spring Meadows

1. Journal 81 - the first journal in the game. You will get it automatically, right next to the Abandoned Expeditioner Camp flag.

Flying Waters

1. Journal 68 - the journal is located in the middle of the only path leading through the location - it's practically impossible to miss it. You will come across it just before seeing the huge Bourgeon and reaching the Lumieran Streets flag.

The Small Bourgeon

1. Journal 53 - the journal is located at the end of the side path in this very small, optional location.

Esquie's Nest

1. Journal 66 - you will find the journal in the abandoned camp, after ing through the path of overturned columns, which Esquie will create for you after recruiting him.

Yellow Harvest

1. Journal 38 - you will find the journal on a cliff full of blue lanterns, after entering a side path, upon reaching the Harvester's Hollow flag.

1. Journal 44 - you will find the journal behind the great lake, on the ground, after reaching the Harvester's Hollow flag.

1. Journal 59 - you will find the journal inside the cave right next to the Yellow Spire Wrecks flag.

Stone Wave Cliffs

1. Journal 78 - you will find the journal right after entering the location, on a side path, specifically after climbing the rope behind the Entrance flag.

1. Journal 56 - you will find the journal near the stone bridge, on the way to the Paintress Shrine flag.

1. Journal 50 - you will find the journal on the cliffs, which you can reach with a grappling hook, under the flag of Paintress Shrine.

Forgotten Battlefield

1. Journal 57 - you will find the journal just before the Ancient Bridge flag, near the gestral-merchant.

Stone Quarry

1. Journal 48 - you will find the journal in the quarry southeast of Monoco's Station.

Monoco's Station

1. Journal 65 - you will find the journal at the back of the Monoco's Station, right next to the alternative exit leading to the optional area.

Old Lumiere

1. Survivor's journal - you will find this secret journal inside an old sewer pipe, after the expedition splits up, just after you take control of Maelle's party. To obtain it, you need an old key, which you could have received in the prologue by exchanging a festival token.

1. Journal 58 - you will automatically obtain this journal during the cut-scene. You can't miss it.

Stone Wave Cliffs Cave

1. Journal 54 - this journal is located at the end of the cave, right next to the Chromatic Hexga. You will find the cave to the east of the Stone Wave Cliffs, on the beach at the edge of the map.

Visages

1. Journal 39 - you will find this journal at the top of the cliff in the Sadness Vale, one of the three side locations in the Visages area.

1. Journal 69 - this journal is located in the abandoned camp in the Joy Valley, one of the three side locations in the Visages area.

1. Unknown journal - this journal is located in a locked room in the manor. You will reach it through the door at the end of the blue-lit tunnel in the Rage Valley, one of the three side locations in the Visages area.

Sirene

1. Journal 55 - this journal is located on the main path leading through the location, after reaching the Dancing Classes area.

1. Journal 67 - you will find this journal at the very end of the location, opposite the entrance to the arena, where you will fight with Sirene.

Monolith

1. Aline's journal - you will find this journal in a locked room in the mansion. You will reach it through the door at the end of the area modeled on the Forgotten Battlefield. Turn left after reaching the expeditionist's grave at the end of the area.

Lumiere

1. Journal 60 - you will find the journal just before the entrance to the opera. Approach the edge of the cliff in front of the building and interact with it. You can now ask Esquie to fish out the journal from the water.

Continent

1. Journal 62 - you will find the journal north of the Gestrals village, right on the edge of the continent. That place is covered with stones, so to obtain it you must first recruit Esquie at the Esquie's Nest location.

1. Journal 47 - you will find the journal southwest of Old Lumiere, just before the optional Bourgeon. First, you have to go through the Monoco's Station during the main storyline.

1. Journal 43 - you will find the journal on an island far east of Monoco's Station. The island is covered with coral reefs, so you must first complete the Old Lumiere location to unlock the ability to destroy them. The journal lies right next to the Chromatic Reaper Cultist.

1. Journal 40 - you will find the journal on a small islet just south of the Monolith, after defeating both axons.
