Expedition 33: Is there a New Game Plus mode?

What is New Game Plus?

Yes. Clair Obscur Expedition 33 features a New Game Plus mode. After defeating the final boss and seeing the end credits, you will have the opportunity to start a new story with slightly changed rules. To do that, activate the checkpoint just before the last fight of the game and select the option at the bottom of the list. After choosing this option, you will start a new game in which you will keep:

1. Current character development;
2. Equipment.

However, all side quest progression, quest-related items, and companion relationship levels will be reset. Additional changes in the New Game Plus mode include:

1. Much tougher enemies;
2. New, rare items dropping from enemies;
3. Possibility to upgrade equipment to an even higher level.

The harder mode will therefore be perfect for players who have mastered all the mechanics of Expedition 33 and are looking for an additional challenge.

Can you still explore the world after defeating the last boss?

If you defeat the last boss and load the save from the main menu, the game will take you to the checkpoint just before the final battle. From here, you can return to the open world and finish all the things you didn't have time for earlier. This is a good opportunity to catch up on the side activities that interest you.
