Expedition 33: How to beat Chromatic Troubadour?

Where is Chromatic Troubadour?

Chromatic Troubadour can be found in the Flying Waters region. You'll find the boss waiting at the end of the side path, which you'll discover after reaching the Lumieran Streets flag. The boss is optional and the encounter is not required to progress in the game.

Chromatic Troubadour's attacks

1. Concert - the boss jumps at you and presses the trumpet to his lips, then strikes from above three times. The first two blows are rhythmic, but the third one is slightly accelerated - be ready to parry.
2. Tricky Shot - the boss fires two projectiles that fly towards you for a few seconds. Before they reach you, the boss will run up to you and deliver a horizontal blow with the trumpet. A moment later, two projectiles will hit you one after the other. This attack is easier to just avoid - the blow with the trumpet is quick and it's hard to sense the right moment to parry, although parrying the projectiles is quite easy.

How to fight Chromatic Troubadour?

The fight with the Chromatic Troubadour lacks unique mechanics - you simply have to learn to dodge or parry the boss's attacks. The boss is neither susceptible nor resistant to anything. Glaise has a weak spot in their head, which you can destroy by shooting a weapon if you put a Mark on the boss beforehand (e.g. Gustave's Marking Shot). Destroying the weak point will inflict much greater damage.

For defeating Chromatic Troubadour, you will receive:

1. 2,025 XP,
2. 998 Chroma,
3. Troubadim - weapon for Lune,
4. Chroma Catalyst x2,
5. Color of Lumina x5.
