Expedition 33: How to beat Eveque?

Eveque is the first fully-fledged, mandatory boss you will face in Clair Obscur. On this guide page, we described where to find the boss, how to defeat him, and what are the rewards for defeating him.

Where is Eveque?

Eveque is located at the end of the Spring Meadows region. You will encounter him after discovering the Abandoned Expeditioner Camp flag. This is a mandatory boss.

Eveque's attacks

1. Attack - Eveque approaches a hero and creates one or two magical spears. The parrying window in both variants is the same - parry when the spear is high up in the air.
2. Spell - a stronger variation of the Abbest's spell, repeated three times in a row. Three crystals shoot out from the ground - the first two hit nothing, the third one hits you. Listen carefully to the sounds of the crystals - they appear in a steady rhythm, so parry to the rhythm at the moment of the third sound.
3. Servants - Eveque spends a turn feeling threatened and doing nothing. During the next turn, it summons two Abbests.

How to defeat Eveque?

Eveque is a relatively simple opponent - you were preparing to fight it by facing Abbests. He is susceptible to ice. The boss starts the battle with armor - you have to get rid of three shields before you can deal damage to him. You destroy one shield with a single attack. Use skills that deal many weaker blows, such as Gustave's Lumiere Assault or Lune's Thunderfall and Electrify. Learn to parry his and Abbests' spell - it's easy to do thanks to the rhythm of the crystals, and doing that will give you a lot of action points.

When the boss has about half of his health left, start using strong, single attacks, e.g. Lune's Ice Lance, to charge his break bar (the yellow bar under the health one). You shouldn't use Gustave's arm too much. At the end of the fight, when the boss has about 1/4 of his health left, he will go into a rage. He will renew his armor, this time consisting of eight shields, and will start charging - try to defeat him as quickly as possible. Destroy the armor just like at the beginning of the fight and break him with a charged Overcharge. By saving your strongest attacks for the end of the clash, you should destroy the enemy before he gets charged.

Rewards for defeating Eveque

For defeating Eveque you will receive:

1. 250 XP,
2. 864 Chroma,
3. Picto Cleansing Tint - Healing Tint also removes all negative status effects.
4. Chroma Catalyst x3.
