TES IV: Oblivion Remastered allows you to adjust the game's challenge level to your own abilities and preferences. In our guide you will find a list of all difficulty levels along with an explanation of how they differ from each other. In addition, we inform you about special facilities, such as the aiming assist.

List of difficulty levels

  1. Oblivion remaster offers 5 difficulty levels - Novice, Apprentice, Adept, Expert, and Master.
  2. The game asks for your preferred difficulty level when you launch it for the first time (as part of the initial setup). You can also change the difficulty level at any point during the game - you need to go to the Gameplay tab in the system settings menu.
  3. The differences between difficulty levels work similarly to the original game. Moving the slider to the left decreases the challenge level, while moving it to the right makes the game more difficult. The damage dealt by enemies changes, as well as their resistance to your attacks. At higher difficulty levels, it is therefore easy to die or take higher damage, and defeating a given enemy may be more problematic.

Additional settings

In the Gameplay tab you will also find 2 other interesting options that can make the game easier for you:

  1. Aim Assist - This can help you perform ranged attacks (magic, bow, etc.) more easily. Additional sliders can help you set aiming and zoom sensitivity.
  2. Low Health Vignette Visibility - This option is enabled by default. Blood may appear on the screen to warn you about low health. This may remind you to use a potion or cast a healing spell. This will reduce the risk of accidental death if you don't pay attention to your health bar.
