Is there an option to whistle and call a horse in TES IV Oblivion Remastered? In this guide, we have prepared valuable tips for traveling around the land on a mount. You will learn, among other things, how to force a horse to respawn, where to find it again, and whether your horse can die.
Does the remaster allow you to call a horse?
- In TES IV Oblivion Remastered you can easily get into a situation where you lose your horse and then can't find it. This seems like a serious problem, as you won't be able to travel around the game world on a mount.
- Unfortunately, there is no option to whistle and call the horse. You won't find it in the original version of Oblivion, nor in the 2025 remaster.
How to find a lost mount?
- The simplest solution is to use fast travel to move to any location (it can also be the one you are currently in). Once fast travel is complete, your horse should appear next to you, allowing you to immediately resume traveling on its back.
- Once you reach one of the larger cities, you may receive a message saying that Your horse is stabled outside the city gate.
- Stables are usually located on the outskirts of towns. Your horse will be among the animals in the stable (be careful not to accidentally steal someone's horse!).
Can your horse die?
- When traveling on horseback, you will quickly notice that bandits and monsters will often attack your horse even after you dismount.
- You should always react quickly to protect the animal. Otherwise, your horse may die and there is no option to revive your mount (even for a fee). If that happens, load one of your previous autosaves, especially if you were using an expensive horse since buying another similar mount will be expensive.
