Oblivion Remastered: Is there a TPP camera in the remaster?
Does Oblivion Remastered allow you to set up a TPP camera? On this page of the guide, we inform you about the availability of a third-person view in the TES IV remake, as well as the potential drawbacks of using the TPP view.
Last update:
The default camera in Oblivion Remastered is FPP (first person perspective), but you may wonder whether the game has a TPP view. From our guide you will learn whether it is possible to enable the TPP camera in TES 4 remaster, as well as what are the disadvantages and limitations of the camera placed behind the hero's back.
How to switch to TPP view?
- Oblivion Remastered starts in FPP, i.e. you observe the world with your character's eyes.
- The FPP camera is the recommended choice, but you can also opt for 1 of 2 TPP views. Information on how to change the camera position can be found in the control options. If you are playing on a controller, this will be R3/press the right analog stick.
- There are 2 variants of the TPP camera available and they are shown in the attached images. It can be close behind your character or further away.
Advantages and disadvantages of the TPP view
- The advantage of the TPP camera may be better orientation in the surroundings - you can more quickly spot enemies trying to get you from behind or from the side. You can also, for example, make it easier to plan jumps while climbing or moving away from dangerous sites.
- The third-person view can make it difficult to aim at enemies when using spells, a bow, or other ranged attacks. There is a greater risk that your actions will miss and that you will waste mana or arrows.
- The TPP camera also makes it harder to spot loot. We are talking about smaller items such as potions, food, and crafting materials. There is a risk that these types of loot will be easier to miss, especially since the game does not highlight loot in your the immediate surroundings. We recommend switching to FPP view while searching locations.
